No judgement here

What's your target? You can be honest with me - what do you actually want to change about your body?
At the first gym induction I had as a customer myself, the gym instructor asked me what I wanted to go to the gym for - standard question. I said I wanted my gym workouts to benefit my climbing... that was part of it, but I also wanted to put on some upper body muscle for aesthetics and self-confidence reasons. However, I didn't get chance to say this, so when she said "Well you probably don't want to put on muscle", I just politely let her carry on, feeling a bit too self-conscious as a female, to say that, actually, whilst I have no intentions of becoming massive and competing in bodybuilding shows, I did want bigger arms as they were skinny and I wasn't happy with them. I also told her I didn't need any legs exercises, as I got enough through cycling regularly, but, you guessed it, she added in some legs to my programme anyway. Thankfully, it didn't put me off. I still enjoyed my first session and I've since heard of lots of worse first gym session experiences. But it's made me determined to be more client focused, now that I'm a trainer myself.
So, tell me what you actually want to change or achieve. We'll discuss what's realistic and how long it could take, but be assured that I'm not going to stereotype or judge you. I'm here to empower your progression in whatever you choose that to be.
